Helga Crick Proofreading Services

Charges

I know that every job is different and that different customers expect different things from me, so I ask you to contact me first for a quote, with a description of the work and a typical sample page, before we agree a price.  For larger projects, such as novels or contracts, I am very happy to take on a small part of the project first, perhaps a chapter or specification, under a separate contract so that you have an opportunity to judge the quality of my work before proceeding.

To give you a broad idea of what I charge for your project, here are my current charges.

Project Rate per page
Proofreading (Fiction) £1.50
Proofreading (Factual and contracts) £2.50
Proofreading (Magazine - more than 10 pages) £2.30
Proofreading (Newsletter/leaflet - 10 pages or less) £2.00

Please contact me for writing quotes.

I prefer to agree a fixed price for each project, and this preference is reflected in the prices I quote - you'll usually pay less for this. However, you may also pay for my proofreading services at an hourly rate, if you wish.  The exact rate varies depending on the nature of the work but it will be broadly comparable to the recommended rates proposed by the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.
